How can I write a program in C to read PDF files character by character?
Thanks for Add Text To Pdf.online. When USB 1.1 first hit the market, there were special adaptors which had USB type A plugs on both ends. The adaptor isolated power supply voltages and included the relevant software for two machines to share files from port to port. I’ve never seen a USB 2.0 version. The standard USB-C cable is double ended (which I’m on record as not liking) and the protocol allows for a peripheral to negotiate with the host a voltage supply (up to 20VDC, I believe) in order to reduce the amount of current carried through the cable. I suspect that the reason it is double ended is because there are lazy users out there who couldn’t be bothered checking which end is host and which end is peripheral. Part of the USB-C specification is exactly for this purpose. Because it is double ended, the protocol allows for two host devices to negotiate that power supply is not needed and allow direct file transfer from one machine to the other—a higher tech version than “USB-to-go” which never really took off. Although it would be deadly to the average laptop, it is part of the USB-C “Vision” that a USB-C powered monitor can be directly connected to a USB-C port, possibly with built-in GPU (hopefully user-upgradeable). This leads to the speculation that a Laptop could be recharged from a desktop machine via USB-C, and that one fully powered Laptop may be able to power a second Laptop for long enough to effect a file transfer. Maybe the future of the Home or Office PC, is to resemble a large concrete block, housing only the Power Supply, the CPU and RAM, covered in the then version of USB-C (USB-F) ports and a power socket. Who knows?
