How do we study for the situation reaction test for an SSB interview?

SREENING . Part 1 . Story Writing Also known as PPDT (Picture Perception and Discussion Test). You will be shown a blurry image which contains few persons in any particular surrounding. Follow the instructions and write an articulate and cohere story. Throw in as many details and creativity as you can. Keep the main points of the story in your memory (for later GD). Part 2 . GD Here are some facts you need to know about the 'screening' GD Each candidate is given about a minute to narrate the story t wrote previously during the PPDT. 'THIS' time for narration, is solely yours.Don't screw up here. Why? Because shortly you will see the hindrances you may face.Ok so coming back, use this one min to narrate your story in a very concise and articulate way. Make sure you briefly touch upon the main points in your story - more creative the better . State what your opinion/conclusion is (if asked in the question).Make sure you are audible enough(thus portraying tenacity and confidence). I can't stress this point more. Once all the candidates narrate their individual stories, next starts the GD immediately afterwards. Now it all depends on the group you are in. If its a well - mannered one then you are lucky and could discuss well. But alas! Thats too quixotic. In such a case . a) Try to sneak in your point(s) a minimum of 2 times with confidence. b) Once done with your talk, encourage others taciturn candidates(if any) to open up. c) Do not however, ever ever ever, show off. Remember this is not Roadies, but SSB where t are looking for gentlemen and not for rowdies. I mean think logically, in a group of 10 people, who discuss on a topic, say for 15 mins, how many times can one person get a chance to talk? Most certainly everyone wants their voice to be heard, and hence even if you get a 1-2 min timeslot then consider yourself lucky. But make sure you create an impression whenever you get to speak up.Just keep these above points in mind, and you are good to go. PERSONAL INTERVIEW. The duration of personal interviews varies from 30 mins to 1 hour. Usually the panelists contain just one IO (Interviewing Officer). Interviews are highly subjective, and based on the candidate's past. Usual questions thrown are to describe everything from your past in the chronological order - ie your schooling, 10th , 12th, graduation, your likes/dislikes, how you spend time with your family, your favourite subject/teacher/ your best friends, the qualities you like/dislike in them, the kind of people you detest, some experience from the past where you have shown your leadership skills, any achievements from the past, some occastional current affairs and questions related to the field of your expertise, etc. So as you can see , there are a plethora of topics which can be touched upon with the ones mentioned above being the standard ones. Most importantly. let me warn you beforehand, that if you intend to concort any lies to propitiate the panelist, then more likely the chances are that you won't succeed in the interview. The reason being that the IOs are very trenchant while analayzing the candidates, and why not? afterall that is what t do most of the time in the SSB centers.T can easily discern all those candidates who are not candid and forthright to them. So lest you want to bungle your chances in the interview, be upright and honest. All in all the IOs are very courteous, though occasionally you may be subjected to a few stressful questions, but thats all part to test your mentality.Take it in a good stride and answer all questions with conviction and confidence. Good luck.

Write on PDF: All You Need to Know

As you may have also noticed, the IOS are not the most kind to those who exhibit any hint of doubt or ignorance. But hey, is it the IOS's fault for not taking 'them' seriously? In short, not. A group of people sitting together in a room, who all know each other's job from the inside out, and they are all intelligent people, is probably more than a group of folks who don't have this in common and have never touched or interacted with each other before and can't even see the similarity.
